The Financial Stability Board (FSB) published “International Regulation of Crypto-asset Activities: A proposed framework – questions for consultation” – consultation on a framework for international crypto asset regulation. The international regulatory framework consultation contains 15 questions broadly categorized into “general questions,” “crypto-asset activities and markets,” and “stablecoins.” Questions include whether the recommendations above are sufficient, if a regulatory approach needs to take a more granular categorization of different types of assets, if there should be more differentiation with recommendations for different types of intermediaries and service providers, and the criteria for defining stablecoins. Comments are due by December 15, 2022.
